Sunflower in Winter

After looking at some of Susan Brubaker Knapp's thread-painting, I thought I'd give it a try.  I didn't want to take the time to hand paint my fabric, so I picked out a bold commercial sunflower print to play with.  Here, I'm just finishing stitching the leaves.  Next, I'm hoping to add seed beads to the center.  I'm very pleased with the results so far, and keeping the project small means it will be done soon!  A nice bright project for our cold gray winter.

The cat loves the view from my sewing table.

Resolutions

Ok, I make some resolutions every year.  Some years I write them down.  Some years I even make progress on them.  This year, in addition to doing all the dishes before bed every night (I can tell you right now that one will not be a complete success), I'm going to finish one quilt or quilt-related project a week, at least until I find that full time job I'm looking for.  Since my pieces are small and I always have at least a dozen in progress at any given time, this is doable.  Really.  At the end of week #1, I've completed a pillow for my brother-in-law.  It's supposed to be Garbo.  See what you think!
